On June 2006 the Contribution Justice
law was approved in Puerto Rico´s Legislature,
at the same time they gave the Treasury Department
only four and a half months to implement the 5.5%
Sales and Use Tax. This has been called the most important Tax Contribution Change in Puerto
Rico’s History.
Interservices played a key role in the Implementation of this
gigantic Project for Puerto Rico´s Treasury
Department, successfully implemented PeopleSoft
Financials and PeopleSoft CRM modules on time.
The Project started on July 2006, and counted with
three Simultaneous Production Releases – The
first one only three weeks after the Project’s
beginning and the others during the firsts four
months – it became the biggest challenge that Oracle had to face in Puerto Rico not only
because of the importance and magnitude of the client
but also the exposition of it’s results to
the principal Banks of New York and the Qualifiers
of the Country Risk indicator.
With more than 20 Consultants working On-site and
Off-shore, Interservices has worked
closely with Oracle and The Treasury
Department through the entire implementation
process, from the prototype design to the successful
production releases, achieving every goal on time
and obtaining a second phase for the Project to
implement the Recollection on municipalities.
With this very important achievement, Interservices clearly strengthens its already strong Position
as an Oracle Partner in Latin America,
especially in the Public Sector.
